The 2022 National Immigrants Day Celebration

Presented By Miss Immigrant Organization.

On October 23rd the immigrant community celebrated The 2022 National Immigrant Day presented by Miss Immigrant Organization.   The 2023 Miss Immigrant USA contestants dressed in their ethnic outfits to represent their culture and greeted the guests on the red carpet.

The guests together with the organization chose the 2023 1st Vice, 2nd-Vice, and Miss Immigrant USA. The contestants were judged based on their activities in the community and who has the desire and the motivation to be involved in the community; to represent proudly the immigrant community in a variety of activities with integrity and honesty.

The celebration started with the national anthem and reading the President’s Regan Proclamation. Followed by, presenting the diversity of contestants from 15 countries who were participating and competing for the 2023 Miss Immigrant USA title. The finalists contestants introduced themselves and shared their experience with Miss Immigrant Organization activities they had during the year.

The 2023 Miss Immigrant USA Contestants

Miss Immigrant Organization’s goal is to raise the glory of immigrants and to strengthen unity within diverse communities. Together, we show support through volunteerism and community engagements with honesty, integrity, and trust. 

After two years of the pandemic, we reopened in the Spring and had the honor to meet the beautiful diverse immigrant community. 

Together with the contestants, members and guests we participated in more than 50 activities, events, festivals, and parades, met you personally and receive warm support.

  • We received 163 contestants applications 

  • We had hundreds of zoom meetings and interviews.

  • We took 1000s of pictures and videos. 

  • We met amazing diverse people, And hope we make them happy and proud to be immigrants in the United States of America

 

We will continue this year and you are all welcome to join us.

In observance of National Immigrant Day 2022, Commissioner Manuel Castro was welcomed to the Miss Immigrant USA‘s Gala Pageant & Coronational Ceremony in Chelsea, Manhattan, on Oct 23rd. Our office is proud to celebrate immigrant women & empower all immigrants in NYC.

The Commissioner announced and crowned the 2023 Miss Immigrant USA, Lana Tu, an immigrant from Vietnam who lives in Queens NYC.

Queen Mother Makhadzi announced and crowned the 2023 I Vice Miss Immigrant USA, Farzana Kutub, an Immigrant from Kuwait.

New York City Sheriff, Mr. Anthony Miranda, Stated:

It’s a great pageant to show the diversity that builds the nation.   Thank you to all the contestants and the organization. I’m looking forward to the year to come.

NYC Sheriff Miranda was honored to attend the @MissImmigrantUS, 2022 National Immigrant Day Celebration as a guest speaker promoting an all-inclusive and diverse NYC.

The event was hosted by two amazing ladies, Deputy Queensborough President, Ebony Young and co-founder of Miss Immigrant USA, Magdalena Kulisz.

I am truly honored to receive this recognition and grateful for the love and support everyone had given. I would have never imagined coming this far, as I was always insecure about myself. I took this challenge to join the pageant with the comfort of learning that it is based on community involvement rather than age or appearance.

The Memory Canvas

During The 2022 National Immigrant Day Celebration, guests and contestants could leave their signatures on the canvas. This activity was prevalent among the guests. 

Anthony Miranda – New York City Sheriff, is leaving his signature on the canvas. He wrote: “NYC Sheriff Salutes”.

Contestants, Jameelah and Naomi are painting flags of their countries of origin. 

Miss Panama and her mom are signing the canvas. They as well painted the flag of Panama. 

The final canvas hangs in the Miss Immigrant home on the Upper East Side, reminding its founders how important it is to bring communities together.
